Here are our top 5 Award Winners

First Prize – Best in Show was awarded to Zofia Swita-Bobryk for her portait titled

“Not an Easy Day”

JUDGE’S COMMENTS:
This is a beautifully executed pastel portrait.  The artist has created a very sensitive image.
The warm colour of the face and hands and the detail implied, contrasts well with the simplicity of the dark cool background colour.
This also encompasses the attire of the sitter.

Second Prize – Very Highly Commended

was awarded to Yvonne Langshaw for her painting titled;

“In the Gorge near Ochre House, Fowlers Gap”

JUDGE’S COMMENTS:
Interesting abstract composition.  Good use of colour, variety of shape and marks.
Very evocative of the texture and landscape at Fowlers Gap.

Third Prize – Highly Commended

Awarded to Christine Matthews for her painting titled;

“Journey through Mullengandra, NSW”

JUDGE’S COMMENTS:
Capably executed painting creating a dark and sombre landscape.
The surety of the brushstrokes add to the gesture and atmosphere of the scene.  A dynamic image.

Commended Award

First Commended award went Marlene Weaver for her painting titled “Lemon Tea at Grandma’s”

JUDGE’S COMMENTS:
Well designed image using the reflections to great effect.
Dynamic use of colour.

Commended Award

And another equally Commended award went Nina Paine for her artwork titled “Gymea Lily 3”.

JUDGE’S COMMENTS:
