Art in the Mountains 2022

Our Art in the Mountains Exhibition is now over and we would like to thank our members for entering your work in this annual event which finished on the 25th July.

We are all so happy with the excellent result in sales.  With 20 paintings sold from the 100 works on display, this is a result we are very proud of and we congratulate all the artists who made sales.

The Opening of the Event

The official opening of our ‘Art in the Mountains’ 2022 Art Exhibition was held on Saturday, 9th July.  It all went very well and we thank Dee Jackson for representing CASS.

Dee Jackson welcomed all everyone and thanked the Artists participating in this event.  With 103 entries this year and several sales already at the opening, we’re off to a great start.

She also put in a special thank you to both Diana Garth and Kylie Mercer for their hard work in organising this event, and a further thanks again to Diana Garth for her donated painting as a Buyers Prize.  The names of all buyers will go into a hat and one will be drawn out on the last day to win the painting, so she encouraged visitors to buy a painting during this exhibition for a chance to win Diana’s beautiful landscape oil painting.

Dee further gave the attendees a brief history of CASS which has for more than 30 years actively aimed to unite and strengthen the standing of art societies in our community and gain greater recognition for art societies.  CASS have continually encouraged a high standard of excellence among individual artists within our societies, and concluded that the Art in the Mountains Exhibition does exactly this.

Gallery owner, Victor Peralta, then presented 7 lucky artists with a Devonshire tea voucher for his delicious scones and tea or coffee for his picks in the show, which he said was nearly impossible as the standard of work was so high.

Victor said he hoped more people get a chance to come and visit the show during the next few weeks, not only see the fabulous original artworks on display but to also enjoy the light meals, coffee and teas and delicious cakes available in our Café.

He said, come along and make a day of it, but please remember, the Gallery is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
